Fighting & Combat Seminar
18 January 2007 - Middelburg, Zeeland

Shihan Harry Gorter and Franco Tigele organised an Ashihara Fighting & Combat seminar in Zeeland. The seminar was held at Franco’s dojo in Middelburg. Participants came from TKD, Kyokushin IBK, Kyokushin KBN, Kyokushin Budokai, Ashihara Karate, Kick boxing, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu.

The seminar started at 10h00 and ended at 14h30. Shihan Harry and Franco were assisted by Sensei Henk Riethorst and Senpai’s Piet Lemoine and Niels Bergervoet. Several techniques of sabaki, close fighting, anti grappling and ground survival were taught at the seminar. The group liked it a lot and was very enthusiastic.

This seminar was special to Harry as two of his old team mates and sempais from shihan Jahja Tigele’s Kakara Dojo: Donald Jano (5 Dan Kyokushin) and Willem Elwuar (3rd Dan Kyokushin) attended. Franco’s younger brother, Harris Tigele also attended. After more than 25 years they all were together on the tatami. That in itself was a great moment for all!!

A special thanks to Franco's wife, Ilse for cooking the excellent meals after the seminar.
